This pub is hosting a real, live Bruce Bogtrotter Challenge

Remember Bruce Bogtrotter from Roald Dahl’s book Matilda?

The rather rotund youngster steals a slice of Miss Trunchbull’s cake and is punished by being forced to eat a whole 18 inch chocolate cake in front of the whole school.

If that sounds like your idea of heaven, then a Cork pub has just the #dessertFSTVL activity for you.

Cork’s Sober Lane is holding a Bruce Bogtrotter Challenge on Friday, July 27th.

As part of the first ever national dessert festival in Ireland, the Sullivan’s Quay spot is inviting sweet toothed competitors to chow down on as much delicious chocolate cake as they can stuff into their faces within the allotted time.
