Now that we’re used to this heatwave business, we’re craving treats that are as zingy and fresh as they are tasty.
In the leafy Cork suburb of Ballincollig, Good for the Soul Cafe has invented just the thing.
Throughout #dessertFSTVL (July 23rd to 29th), the Good for the Soul crew will be serving the ‘GFTS Granita’.
Owner Sarah O’Brien told FSTVLR: “Granita is a traditional Sicilian dessert found across Italy and served at any time of the day. With a texture resembling sorbet, it is best served alongside a freshly baked brioche bun, and topped with cream.”
Most importantly though is how you eat it.
“Tear the brioche apart with your hands (starting with the top, ‘il tuppo’) and gently dunk it in your Granita.” Sarah explains.
“It may sound wrong to dip bread in your sweet dessert, but trust us, once you try it, you won’t be able to stop!”
The Good for the Soul Granita, a delicious Strawberry (Fragola) flavour, is available during #dessertFSTVL – every morsel is made fresh in house, even the brioche bun.
TREAT. YO. SELF.
